Fall is hands down one of the best parts about living in New England. When the leaves start doing their thing, you don't have to trek to Vermont or the Berkshires to catch gorgeous fall color. Some of the best leaf-peeping can be found right here around Boston! Whether you're looking for an easy family walk, a place to bring the dog, or a hike with a view, here are some of our favorite local places to soak up fall while it lasts.
Centennial Reservation
Wellesley
You don't have to leave Wellesley for a picture-perfect fall walk. With wooded trails, open fields, and plenty of room to explore, Centennial Reservation is a favorite for a fall outing close to home. Keep your walk short or spend a little longer exploring — either way, it's an easy way to enjoy a classic New England fall afternoon.
Brook Path
Wellesley
The Brook Path follows Fuller Brook through some of the prettiest pockets of town, with colorful trees, small bridges, and plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the scenery. It's an easy choice for a family stroll, a walk with the dog, or a little leaf-peeping close to home.
Cutler Park Reservation
Needham
Cutler Park is a local gem when you're craving a little nature without driving far. Trails wind through woods and wetlands along the Charles River, offering beautiful fall scenery and plenty of opportunities to spot birds and other wildlife.
